TOWARDS A GREENER WORLD

Fortos strives for sustainable development
and continuous improvement, for our
business, customers, and society

At Fortos we strive for sustainable development and continuous improvements,
for our people, our customers, and for our business.

Our ambition to always do better is built into our ways of working;
in projects, the way we act and behave, and in decisions we take.
— Torbjörn Lööf, CEO at Fortos

TOWARDS A GREENER WORLD

We take an active stand for a “greener world” by measuring and decreasing our CO2 footprint, following our policy standards, and challenging our customers and suppliers towards conscious choices.

DIVERSITY AND WELL-BEING

We are committed to promoting gender equality and equal leadership opportunities, both in workforce and management. By complying with our Code and through our Social Club, we also focus on the physical and mental well-being of our people.

Thought leadership areas

We work continuously to develop and immerse ourselves through our thought leadership areas connected to sustainability, where we together with our customers are part of the transformation towards a sustainable automotive and mobility industry.

Fortos follows the United Nation’s agenda 2030 with the 17 sustainable development goals

The Agenda 2030, includes the 17 sustainable development goals and was signed by all UN member states in 2015, who committed to the goals and to keep global warming at 1.5 degrees through the Paris Agreement.

This urges for global, local, and people action and is a universal call for action to achieve the three pillars:

  • End poverty

  • Protect the planet

  • Improve the life and prospects of everyone

Among the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Fortos has chosen to focus on Four key goals setting the Internal strategy forward

5.5: Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic, and public life.

Fortos is committed to promoting equal gender participation and leadership opportunities, with a 50/50 gender distribution in our workforce and management. We encourage and provide conditions for employees to develop leadership skills through courses and manager guidelines.

9.4: By 2030, upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource-use efficiency and greater adoption of environmentally sound and clean technologies and industrial processes, with all countries taking action by their respective capabilities.

Fortos is dedicated to driving automotive and mobility transformation. With specific thought leadership areas (TLA) we are updated on the latest trends and share insights with customers and industry peers. We also connect actors from across the energy value chain to promote investment in charging infrastructure, which supports the transition from fossil fuels to electrified transportation.

11.6: By 2030, reduce the adverse per capita environmental impact of cities, including by paying special attention to air quality and municipal and other waste management.

Within our thought leadership areas, Fortos researches how to transform traditional automotive and mobility business models into models that contribute to sustainable cities and communities. By learning and sharing new solutions within electrification, mobility services, and charging infrastructure we can help our customers reduce reliance on fossil-fueled vehicles. Our internal car allowances policy excludes ICE vehicles, and our office location enables our employees access to sustainable transportation options.

12.5: By 2030, substantially reduce waste generation through prevention, reduction, recycling, and reuse.

12.6: Encourage companies, especially large and transnational companies, to adopt sustainable practices and to integrate sustainability information into their reporting.

In accordance with the Swedish Environmental Code, Fortos economizes on raw materials and minimizes our environmental impact. Our office is focused on reused furniture, renewable energy, and eco-friendly products. Recycling is fundamental. Additionally, we have thought leadership areas to research the latest trends within sustainability and circularity, and we share knowledge and promote solutions to our customers and stakeholders.
